Why my Outlook Calender don't sync with my iPhone Calender

We noticed that when creating an event in the iPhone, it won't sync with Outlook 2007.  Yes, when creating the event in the iPhone, it does sync with Outlook.

Are you using most current version of itunes. What happen if you try syncing just one calendar.

You may need to clear the sync history.

Will try syncing just one calender, but FYI:  if I modify my Outlook it does sync the data to my iPhone.  But if I enter a calender in my iPhone, it doesn't sync to my outlook.

How should the sync work?

Try this http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1692

if that does not work then you need to uninstall itunes and reinstall.

Prior seeing your answer I place a question for a optimal uninstall of iTune (see http://www.experts-exchange.com/Apple/Hardware/iPhone/Q_27314354.html for further assistance).

FYI my current  version is 10.4.1.10

Also we just tried resetting sync and still don't work.  Did notice that after resetting sync and before sync, we created a new calender in Outlook and new calender in iPhone, and only the iPhone was sync with Outlook calender (iPhone has both calendar entered).  The Outlook didn't have the iPhone calender.

Just finished uninstalling iTunes.  Referred to your link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 which also recommended to uninstall related Apple apps:

If you see other iTunes entries in the list, remove them as well by repeating steps 4-6.
Remove any iPod Updater applications that are listed the same way you removed iTunes.
Remove all instances of QuickTime the same way you removed iTunes.
Remove all instances of Apple Software Update the same way you removed iTunes.
Remove all instances of Apple Mobile Device Support the same way you removed iTunes.
Remove all instances of Bonjour the same way you removed iTunes.
Remove all instances of Apple Application Support the same way you removed iTunes.

My question is, what about the folders with iTunes contents? Should I delete them prior installing a fresh copy of iTunes? (see below)

     C:\ProgramData\Apple\
     C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\
     C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes
     C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes

ComputerTechieCommented:
you should only delete the following folders.

C:\Program Files\Bonjour
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files\iTunes\
C:\Program Files\iPod\
C:\Program Files\QuickTime\
C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR

If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you will need to confirm that the following folders have been removed as well:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\
C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\QuickTime
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\QuickTimeVR

Via apple directions http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923,

if you delete the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes you will delete you itunes files.

The next step is to restore the iphone as a new iphone then sync again.
This will delete any app data on the phone and it will not return - such as game save data information stored in apps

i recommend you backup you iphone http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
then restore as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3828
when it ask you do you want to restore from a back you do not.
then put an event and test again

if it works then you had a crupted ios and will not be able to restore the data and need to continue on.
if it does not work then issue is with outlook such as antivirus software or a add-on and then you can restore your iphone from backup..

When you say "when it ask you do you want to restore from a back you do not.
then put an event and test again", you mean say "NO" when the restore asks "restore from back"?

I don't understand

We were re-reading the thread and found apache09 recommending to check sync settings since there is 1 way sync and 2 way sync.

Maybe that is the problem.  Where do I change this setting?

cvalcarcelCommented:
Hi,

There maybe a corrupt calendar item in the calendar.

Try only syncing a week at a time to see if items will appear in the calendar again.

Usually corrupt items have large attachments or long event names, or third party events (from lotus notes etc)

Hope that helps!

Try restoring your iphone to the factory settings.

rayluvsAuthor Commented:
Question... the process of restore, how complicated is it?
0

cvalcarcelCommented:
You should connect your iphone to itunes, make sure it is the itunes account that is tied in to the iphone (so you will not lose your music, videos, and apps). itunes should automatically perform a backup of the phone. After that is complete if you click the phone device in itunes (left hand pane) you should see the option to "restore to factory defaults". The iphone will wipe then you can re-sync you media. Depending on how much media you have it should take at least 1 hour.

Besides medias, music & videos, does this process also restore all my iPhone apps and contacts info? (my contact info is sync with google also)

rayluvsAuthor Commented:

Our problem is that when entering a calender event in the iPhone, it doesn't sync to Outlook.

We have updated the iPhone to iOS 5 ans still doesn't work.

We have also, after the update, restored the iPhone to factory state and still no sync from iPhone >> Outlook (Outlook >> iPhone always worked).

Finally we found the problem; it's not sync.

We just found the our outlook has 3 Calender and the iPhone also and yes it was syncing, but since there is more that once Calender in outlook, the it was syncing to Calender_1.

So what can we do to have just one Calender in both iPhone and Outlook so we can see all our calenders entered in the iPhone.

The previous entry ID: 37091751 , what we did was place another question and an EE helped sort thru the problem.

After running all recommendation here, we never got to sync the iPhone Calender/Event entry with the Outlook; though the Outlook to iPhone worked, the other way around didn't.

Nevertheless, when we did a restore default, though didn't fixed the ' wee did get to noticed that in our Outlook and also iPhone there 3 Calenders and only one was being sync (an option in iTunes).

To correct the problem, we first *with EE assistance( combined all our calenders than just sync and all worked!!!

Finally all all our iPhones syncs perfectly from iPhone to Outlook.

Will proceed to close the question and award all for their assistance and patience with us.
