I am trying to display a modalpopup  in the timer event  when there is a new  recod in the  databse . timer interval is set to  6000( 6 seconds) for testing
Timer control is in updatepanel and  update mode is conditional .
For  every 6 seconds , my  Page_load event is firing and flickers the whole page
How do i avoid  this.

A bit of a guess here, but possibly you have a problem with a timer in an updatepanel.  You might need to manage this externally, and issue page loads (or whatever) only for particular requests.
