FM - auto enter 4-digit year date Filemaker

How can you auto-fix a 2-digit year to a 4-digit year automatically like you can auto-format phone numbers so you can skip the validation warning?  Looked into EE but only saw how to do it for MS Access.  And, I don't want to just format it to a 4-digit date via the Inspector, but need the date to have a 4-digit date.

Well, you would only want to do this if you were sure that all dates were in the current century. For instance if you were entering birth dates for ancestors or the date a house was built, or a deed signed, 3/15/15 could be 1815, 1915 or 2015.

Generally speaking, if you enter a date with a two-digit year, FM will automatically assume that if its in the next 30 years that its in the current century and if it's more than 30 years, it's in the previous one. To quote FileMaker's KB:

FileMaker Pro converts two-digit year dates into four-digit year dates based on the year in which the date is entered, always assuming that the four-digit year date should be in either the next 30 years, or the preceding 70 years. The following table shows how two-digit year dates entered in three different years will convert to four-digit years.

FileMaker will also supply the current year automatically, if you enter only the month and day. For example, if I enter 9/14 for today, FM assumes that that is 9/14/2011. If I enter 9/14/11, it also assumes that it is 9/14/2011. If you talking about cleaning up existing dates, then you should be looking at performing a Replace operation on the affected fields.
