Webstar by Scientific-Atlanta Cable Modem Install

I'm trying to install a Webstar cable modem (model DPX2203) manufactured by Scientific-Atlanta. I'm currently installing it on Windows.

I got the driver from http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=1819442.

Could you help?

Are you trying to use the USB? Use an ethernet cable instead. Only thing you would need to worry about is making sure your computer is set up to dynamically obtain an ip address from the ISP.

Additionally, I don't recommend connecting a pc directly to the internet even with a software firewall. I would put it behind a router/firewall device with Natting enabled.

I plugged in both the USB and the ethernet cable.

When you do an ip config what ip address do you have? Have you ensure the the cable provider have registered your modem in their system.

Make sure you are set up to receive a dhcp address.

Try connecting the computer then rebooting the modem.
