I have ubuntu 11.04 running on a Dell d420 that no longer accesses wireless, sd card or USB drive (thumb drive or external optical). It was working fine yesterday but now nothing. I made no changes to the system.

Try removing AC and the battery for 10 seconds, then boot the PC. Does USB work?

If not, try to boot from a Ubuntu 11.04 LiveCD. Does USB work?

What's the output of dmesg? And what happens in dmesg log when you insert an USB stick?

Regards, Tobias

A friend was able to get this working today apparently the updates didn't download/install properly.
Thank you!
