Uncheck "Use Mailbox Store Defaults"

Is there a way to modify this script so that it will uncheck "Use mailbox store defaults" so that the setting can be applied?

Get-Content userlist.txt | Get-Mailbox | Set-mailbox -prohibitsendreceivequota YYYY

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I think you need to specify -ProhibitSendQuota and -IssueWarningQuota additionally at the same time (within the same command), because if you disable mailbox store defaults then also these to values need to be specified manually.

The "Use Mailbox Store Defaults" box remains checked even though I added the other perameters that you suggested.

Ok, I was wrong. Actually if you want the "Use Mailbox Store Defaults" box to be cleared you need to specify "... Set-mailbox -usedatabasequotadefaults 0" to disable it. Use "1" to enable. But...

I played a little bit with this and found that the "-ProhibitSendQuota" also takes effect when the Database defaults checkbox is still enabled. In OWA and also Outlook 2003 without cached mode it took effect immediately while in Outlook 2010 (cache mode enabled) I am still able to send mail in this very moment. So here is some kind of inconsistency. Found an article about that (but Ex 2007):

I did not try the "-prohibitsendreceivequota" option this way but expect it to work identical.

Hope this now helps you.
