Hi Experts,

I'm totally baffled as to what is happening here on a domain user's Outlook profile. If I logon to this machine with my account - it works fine.

Error: message "Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook" when you try to create, to edit, or to reply

I have tried the following steps:

1. Reinstalled Microsoft Office 2003 - [didn't work]
2. Ran "Detect and Repair "on Word 2003 - [didn't work]
3. Created a new Outlook profile - [didn't work]
4. Rigistered file "regsvr32 ole32.dll" - [didn't work]
5. Deleted reg key after take backup
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\W ord\Data  - [didn't work]
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\W ord\Options - [didn't work]
6. Rigistered file "winword.exe /a" - didn't work
7. Upgraded Word 2003 to Word 2007 - greys out:
* Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail message
* Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to read Rict Text e-mail messages
8. Created a new Windows profile - - [didn't work]

I have searched high-low for a fix :(

Please help.

Thanks,
ROb

I think the problem lies with permissions... as it only happens on this user's profile (no matter how many times its rebuilt).

I added the affected user into local admin group and this seems to fix the issue, but being a business, I cannot allow user to remain with local-admin.
