I am trying to change the recovery model from simple to full in the tempdb on a SQL 2008 server that I just setup and I am getting the attached error. I want to find how to go about doing that for data backup purposes and find out if this is going to impact any other database on this server by making this change.

The simple recovery model is required; therefore, tempdb log space is always automatically reclaimed. You cannot backup tempdb.
