PayPal Issues

I have been sing a php interface to PayPal to test credit card transactions on a web site. It works fine, but I find out now that it's what PayPal calls the "Pro" methods & will cost them more.

One alternative is described here: https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=developer/e_howto_api_ECGettingStarted

In the section entitled "Testing an Express Checkout Integration", about half way down it talks about "Review the response string from the SetExpressCheckout API operation.". It is not clear to me how this response string is passed back to the "RETURNURL" page.

Can someone clarify?

It's returned as a query string attached to the URL like https://www.yourcompany.com/page.html?param=value... (which is found on page 22 of PP_ExpressCheckout_IntegrationGuide.pdf ).  That means your PHP page has to pickup that info from the $_GET array on that page.

Thanks, I understand how to use $_GET, etc., I didn't see where it was passed or what it is called.

Can you give me the link to PP_ExpressCheckout_IntegrationGuide.pdf?

I don't know where that is.

You can just use a class that is already written that will do all the work for you, here is one, written by the same person who did an Authorize.net class that I have used, which was excellent:
