MySQL MWB File Format: How to edit?

I need to change many index names in an MWB file. It is tedious to do this using the GUI. I cannot re-import because I would lose my diagrams and other annotations.
Is the file format documented somewhere? Are there any textual editing tools?

As far as I can tell, there is no easy-to-access document detailing the structure of the MWB file.  I suppose you could always go through the source to document it, but that is probably more than you want to do for your project.

Looks like i am out of luck. I just have to manually edit through the GUI. I may open a bug on MWB to ask for some tools to help with this sort of thing.

This is really not an answer. There does not appear to be any answer to my question. I cannot call this Excellent since it does not answer the question.
