Error when opening large files in SharePoint 2007

This just started, but we cannot open a file larger than 5MB. The server returns 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR. Any ideas?

Check your server event logs. Are you able to right click and do a save as?

I resolved the issue. It turns out that disk space was low on the SQL server. Move the database to a different drive and all is well.
