I have WHS Server 2011, and the only real backup solution is windows Backup but it has a 2TB storage Limit

I have an external storage Array with 2 x 2TB Disk, and i want to create a custom image backup of the drives on my WHS Server ( effectively windows 2008 R2 )

can anyone recommend a backup software, thatis comparable to windows Server backup but without the 2TB limit

I was looking at symantec backup exec, but dont know if this is the best option. Also bear in mind the same server will backup itself to external storage

Regards. Alan

Partition your external storage into 2TB partitions or less, then create several different backups for different sources and destinations. If necessary also partition your server's partitions into smaller partitions, so it is easier to select a drive to backup. That way you won't need any 3rd party software for backing up.

Symantec backup exec is the best you can go for it.
Also arc serve is the third part backup solution.

I decided to use acronis Home 2012 which will work on WHS 2011.

This seems like the bestt option. I Just have to use a script currently to disable mountpoints for my stablebit drivepool to backup teh OS on its own
