Issuing CA digitally signed certificate to a Windows 2003 Enterprise SQL 2005 Server in a Windows 2008 Active Directory.

My issuing Certificate Services CA is running on Windows 2008 Enterprise R2 SP1 server. I am now ready to issue a digitally signed certificate to my Windows 2003 Enterprise SQL 2005 server.
What are the Best Practice steps for doing this?

Sorry for the delay, users will need to have a certificate on their workstation or for their user account before they can access database info on the server.

So you need User Certificates not a Certificate for your SQL Server.
You can user Certificate Autoenrollment via Active Directory Group Policies.
