Deleting NAS MyBookLive Public Share Folders

Deleting NAS MyBookLive Public Share Folders

I want to reformat a 1 TB WDC MYBOOKLIVE NAS drive to delete *all* files and use as network drive with Acronis 2011 backup software. Some files cannot be deleted (see attached files - list below). Various other reasons restricting access. Front LED never on. I am administrator of these PCs - no other users.

setup.exe does not display text/image on setup pages. I have registered this drive with WDC, though setup.exe says in trial period.

Some Public Share folders not visible on Earthrise; others not visible on Neutrino; some are Mac files (e.g. .AppleDouble

I do not want to back up Mac files; this is done with Time Machine & separate drive connedcted to Mac Mini.

I have 2 WIN 7 PCs to back up. All on same ethernet network.

Can I use this drive as above? As above, I am willing to delete *everything* (reformat?) and use as NTFS drive, say M:

You generally wouldn't do that via Windows, but rather the utility (OS) provided by the NAS. Normally you connect to it via a web browser, and there you can normally format the disks in the NAS. Read it's manual and you should be able to see how it's done.

I was able to retrieve 95% of disc for Acronis backup.
