How to successfully uninstall iTune from my Windows 7

We need to uninstall my iTune from my Windows 7 PC.  I understand that my iPhone data is already synce in my iTines, so I want to make sure I don't loose any iPhone data.

What would be the most optimal method to uninstall iTunes?

Just FYI: my current iTunes version is 10.4.1.10

you can simply goto the control panel - programs and features and uninstall it from there. else you can also use http://www.revouninstaller.com/

you data will be safe, but the next time you try to sync, you will need to authorize the pc again.

What about any data within the iTunes folders, should I backup anything?  ...or is it just straight forward uninstall?

Please advice

Its a straight forward uninstall, if you have paid for any apps, you can always download them again. The same applies for the music since these are attached to your account. DRM protected.

Itunes does not remove any photos or contacts which are NOT in the iTunes folder. Which by default are usually not.

eg : Photos are in the My Documents folder, under My Photos.

Lance_PCommented:
You can delete it. Like most programs, iTunes always leave something back. Some files are shared with QuickTime which is an apple product.

the only way to completely remove programs is to use a third party installer and use the same tool to uninstall. even then, some traces of registry entries will not be removed. (Like trail ware etc)
