Ubuntu: Lotus Notes

Hi,

1) I have a linux workstation Ubuntu 10.04.3 in the enterprise environment
2) I am installing the Lotus Notes 8.5.2 on this Ubuntu workstation
3) I am used to with Microsoft environment (but NOT the Linux environment)
3 Per google:
- First Install the dependencies:
sudo aptitude install libgnomeprint2.2-0 libgnomeprintui2.2-0

4) My questions:
If I execute the above command ("sudo aptitude install libgnomeprint2.2-0 libgnomeprintui2.2-0"):

First: From where are the "libgnomeprint2.2-0 libgnomeprintui2.2-0"? Are they from "Linux Repository"? or from the file of "ibm-lotus-notes-8.5.2. i586.deb which i put in the desktop?

5) Thanks

tjie

Aptitude is the application installation mechanism for debian Linux - not sure if this will install on Ubuntu as it uses the debian (Internet based) repository.

You could try sudo apt-get for Ubuntu - are there specific install instructions for Ubuntu from IBM?

"""So Aptitude uses the debian (Internet based) repository."""

That means the above command goes to repository
