Symantec endpoint protection small business edition virus and spyware definitions are out of date

Hi,

I am using Symantec endpoint small business edition, and it was working fine.Yesterday, I noticed that the antivirus and spyware protection definitions are out of date.  I clicked on " fix" and it downed the update files, but the problem still persists.  Can someone please help with this?

Thanks!

I fixed the problem.  My time and date were set in October instead of September.  I had to set it back to the current time and date, and it fixed the issue.  Thanks!

Sometimes it takes a day for updates to take effect. Shut down today, restart tomorrow and see if it fixes itself. If not, the easiest approach (in my experience) is to uninstall SEP, restart and re-install it. That should fix it.  Again, if not, scan for viruses or other malware that is attempting to shut down SEP. ... Thinkpads_User

Try running Live Update instead of Fix. Also, look at this knowledgebase article for antivirus definitions out of date. It does not match your situation exactly, but it is worth a look. ... Thinkpads_User
