Hi junaidIT,

Back the old device up to a local machine using Desktop Manager. When it comes to restoring the backup, choose the Advanced option which will show you the various databases that can be restored. You should see the volume of information in the BBM database from here and it can be restored individually.

Hope this helps,

Mike

Mike,

I did tht already. The issue I had is that an email to which a remote backup of bbm contacts was done , did not restore it to the new device. It popped up with a msg saying there aint any contacts and that I need to register it.

The email was bes activated mail.using 4.1.7 with exchange 2007 sp2

Hi JunaidIT,

This is why I suggested doing a local backup of the original device using Desktop Manager. The Advanced Restore will enable you to see whether or not any contacts in BBM have been backed up and are able to be restored. You can't query the handset databases in a remote backup. If the BBM database in the Advanced Restore shows up with no information then there is a problem with the backup process or the original handset.

Regards,

Mike

so there is no log anywhere on the bes that could show you probably what went wrong with the remote backup other than checking on the handset which you already mentioned is not possible.
