You'll need to go to your template files and remove them from the files. You will look for something like:
<div class="post-meta"><?php the_time('F jS, Y'); ?> <em>by</em> <?php the_author_posts_link(); ?></div>
<div class="post-cats"><?php $category = get_the_category(); echo $category[0]->cat_name; ?></div>

Open in new window

Another alternative would be to use css to remove it. To do that you'd need to find the id or class that contains it and use something like:
.post-cats, .post-meta {
display:none !important;
}
