Help learning Delphi - This is an easy one

Hello! Besides all of you work and college experience, what books and/or media helped drill the fundamentals of Delphi! I am brand new to using such a language and find myself constantly overwhelmed, when looking for publications or media for help.

Ideally I need a beginners and then intermediate style of teaching. I am using Delphi XE Starter  and am desperate to learn as much as i can in this post Unicode era that wee are residing!

FYI I understand variables and loops, but I'm missing the heart of object oriented programming when trying to use procedures and functions. My current boss is a programmer, but he's not a hand holder. Im going in alone. And yes, I will be recieveing some training in the future but I'm not sure when.

Thanks!!!

The long timers in Delphi started in Pascal 4.0 or 5.5 like me ... :)
We gradually were introduced to new concepts like OO.

For me, the best book ever was from Tom Swan for Turbo pascal.
I think you won't find that around anymore.

Teach yourself delphi in 24 days ...
