Which version of Windows Installer comes with the Windows Server 2008 R2 distribution?
Is Windows Installer 4.5 compatible with WS 2008 R2?  Where can you download Windows Installer 5.0?

Not interested in downgrading.

I take it that this statement means Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 come with WI 5.0?

'Windows Installer 5.0 5.0.7600.16385 or greater Released with Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7.'

They only thing in those articles about querying the version of WI gives examples of calls.  Is there any command that can be ran from the cli to determine the actual version of WI.
