Hi again

I know all TSM clients connect to TSM server using 1500/TCP, but not sure there's a connection from the TSM to the clients. I need to open this ports on a firewall because the TSM server is along on a new segment.
Please, take in care, all possibles TCP or UDP ports.

Thanks.

Hi,

You must open the TCP port which is set with "TSMClientport" in the client's dsm.sys (or the default of 1501) for the client scheduler.
This applies to "SchedMode prompted" in the client's dsm.sys.
The server will contact the client over this port.

With "SchedMode polling" only the client will contact the server, the server will not try to reach the client.

Please note that the "LLAddress" of the client configured on the server (if any, ask your TSM server admin!) must correspond to TCPClientPort.

The above is the only port the server will use.

However, if you want the client to respond to http requests coming from admins using the Web GUI (dsmcad) you must open the port configured with HTTPPort in the cient's dsm.sys (default 1581).

OK
I checked some AIXs here and there's not any TSMClientport option on /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsm.sys.

SO , I think we're using the SchedMode pooling. SO, I'll ask to open 1501 and 1580 to the client side and 1500 to the TSM server.

Thanks.
