microsft exchange subdomains

I am trying to point our exchange mail point to Zix for encryption they asked me to add in the Subdomain but they can not tell me step by step how to do this can someone give me directions on how to do this.

You do this through your web host where your domain is hosted (i.e. godaddy.com, etc...)
Create an A record there with the sub-domain of your choice (zix.domain.com)

also with the A record do i put this in the exchange server section or in the windows DNS side I am not technical so if you can give basic steps it would help alot thank you
