Why does slide scroll bar in MS PPT 2007 jump back to slide 8 of 20 slides when I want to scroll to slide 1 from slide 8?

In Microsoft Office Powerpoint 2007, I will be in Normal Slide view of a presentation, & clicked on slide 8 of 20 slides. When I move the scroll bar to the top to see Slide 1, it jumps back down to slide 8. The same happens if I try to scroll down to the last slide; the scroll bar jumps back to the slide I was on and does not allow me to sroll to the last few slides.  How can this be fixed?

Do you have any Smart white board software installed? Some of it is not that Smart!

There's a known issue with Smart Tech Tools that can cause the symptoms you have. As a check bring up the task manager and in processes look for Aware.exe and kill the process. If the problem goes away this is your problem.

We do use Smartboards and ending task on Aware.exe fixed the problem with PowerPoint. Hopefully Smart Tech will address this problem in the near future with a software update.

I don't have the software (I had a trial which has expired) but I'm told there's an option to turn off "ink aware" in a control panel.
