I'm trying to create a rule so that when mail comes in there is an auto reply that would email the sender letting them know that I got there e-mail and will answer back as soon as possible. I keep getting an error, do I have to be on an exchange server to be able to set this up?

The above applies to Outlook 2007 which I know how to setup. I'm trying to do same on Outlook on a Mac laptop ( outlook 2011 ) which by the way I found out that it can not be done unless you are connected to and Exchange Server.

But thank you for  your reply, it is corect.
