Sysinternals Desktop error

Hi folks

I'm having some problems with Sysinternals Desktop when I try to create new desktops. I get an error message stating that there's insufficient memory to execute the command.
I kill some memory-hogging processes and after a while (not right away) I can create some desktops but so far no more than 2 more.
When I check the memory usage of Desktops it's miniscule, less than 4 MB.
Total memory usage is something like 770MB out of 4GB available.

Anyone know what this could be due to? I'm also running Destops on my laptop which has 2,5 GB available memory and can create as many desktops as I want on that machine.

Cheers!
Jon

Hi,

Sys. Desktop initiate another copy of Explorer.exe. Some plugins and hooks to Explorer.exe might crash when instances more than one.

Try remove these plugin/hooks using Systinternals Autoruns.
On Autoruns inteface, switch to Explorer tab and general rule of thumb, give a look on NON-Microsoft thing first.

Maybe you like to UNTHICK it first to deactivate rather than deleting it directly.  After that restart you computer and try run Sysinternals Desktop again.

Thx khairil!

That was it. I've now managed to get four desktops going, before I only got three started. And when I re-tick the sutff I've unticked to get Desktop to work it starts to not work again.
There's a bundle of stuff that explorer.exe starts, I'm gonna try and find out which one(s) are causing the crash.

Cheers!
