If you want to know if it is a virus issue you best run a AV scan... Are you using outlook in conjuntion with exchange? Can you move the OST file to another location when outlook is closed and see if the OST that gets created has the same issue?

Hi upl1,

Check log file. Is any error is appearing there? If there is any, please mention it.
In the mean time, backup your OST file and try scanost.exe utility to resolve your issue. To locate scanost.exe utility for the version of Outlook you are using refer: http://www.techtwitt.com/how-to-resolve-ost-integrity-issue-using-scanost-exe/
