I am having a problem with my utlook ost file. The actuall size of the.ost is about 200MB but it shows 19GB. Default size that we have set for exchange is 300MB for ost. So my emails have stopped coming and going as well. Is it a virus problem ?

If you want to know if it is a virus issue you best run a AV scan... Are you using outlook in conjuntion with exchange? Can you move the OST file to another location when outlook is closed and see if the OST that gets created has the same issue?

You need to compact the ost file.

compacting is done when the file size is big. When i export the same ost to another location it shows the correct size . but inside user profile it shows 19GB ost

Hi upl1,

Check log file. Is any error is appearing there? If there is any, please mention it.
In the mean time, backup your OST file and try scanost.exe utility to resolve your issue. To locate scanost.exe utility for the version of Outlook you are using refer: http://www.techtwitt.com/how-to-resolve-ost-integrity-issue-using-scanost-exe/
