Hi all

I have bee tasked with creating a page on our sharpoint site where employees can report faults etc from within the company, so if they see something that needs doing they can add it to sharepoint and then a relevant email will be sent to the required person.

Can anybody give me some guidance on  how to acheive this.

Hello John,
The easiest way to accomplish this task is to create a new Custom List from the "Site Actions" menu.
After creating the custom list you need to add columns to this list (like "Defect Deatils" and  "Asigned To").
You can read more about this here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-sharepoint-services-help/working-with-sharepoint-lists-part-1-HA001119988.aspx

Then when your list is ready you need to create a page to add a new defect and a workflow that will send an email to a relevant person on every new defect. This can be done with SharePoint Designer:

Workflows

I hope it helps.
