Thank you all for your answers, I've been pretty busy hence the delay in responding.
I've actually tried several of your proposed scanners and only one was able to retrieve 12 items for 55Kb out of 4.3Gb.
So we can't really call that success.
Thank you anyways.

Hi,
Suggest you check the full disk you are have which had the original pst file on.
Sometimes outlook creates an archive of the pst file.
Depends upon what info / time frame you are wanting.

Also check the size of the full pst you are wanting to repair.
check out

Works a treat, can repair or convert from version ie. mac to pc etc
sometimes you can extract the contacts, then mail, then calender one by one.
Make sure you allow plenty of time, depending upon file size.
Would recommend you use a fresh logon, make sure you don't have anything in Outlook whichever version you are using on a different pc, that way you can test what is recovered from the corrupt file.

I've done a number of data recovery jobs, pst converter was pretty useful.

Any queries give me a shout.
