Mac with os x keeps losing connection to windows 7 share. The system will connect to the windows 7 machine but then it would stop connecting. The only way to reconnect is to restart the windows 7 machine and then the mac can connect to it again.

*Note* When the mac has issues connecting, the name of the server and the ip address can still be pinged.

If you are using 10.6, try updating to 10.6.8 by pulling down the Apple Menu to Software Update.
