Why would VMWare WorkStation stop registering mouse clicks?

For some reason, VMWare WorkStation will stop responding to left clicks. The tooltips still show, and the mouse moves, but the keyboard doesn't work, and the left button is a no-go.

Are you using VMware Tools in the Virtual Machines?

What Guest OS and Host OS are you using?

What version of VMware Wrkstation?
