I have a standard document library in Sharepoint 2010 to which I have been uploading files without a problem. I have now tried to upload a PDF file that is between 2-3MB and I receive the following error stack (below) through the web interface.

Attempts to upload directly via the file system have also failed.

Started to see similar errors while adding permissions to libraries, etc. Was finally able to determine that all of the SP transaction logs were full because they Backup operation stopped due to a full hard-drive.

Solution was to:

1. Expand hard drive capacity
2. Query each database for log reuse wait status

select [name], [log_reuse_wait], [log_reuse_wait_desc] from sys.databases

3. Manually run each backup through Management Studio

Following these steps the problems went away
