Outlook Sync Issues w/ journal mailbox

Im running outlook 2010. I just noticed I have 25,000 emails in my Sync Issues folder. Waht should I be aware of in regards to this folder and is this typically a problem with the outlook client or exchange server (2010) ?

looks like they all pertain to the mail archive journalying box wfi journal2:

Looks like the connection to your exchange server keeps getting disconnected. How are you connected to the exchange server? Is it over vpn or dialup? Also serious network problems will cause this issue as well.

exchange server is local - no problems detected. Im on exchange 2010 but the journal mailbox is on exchange 2003, maybe that is the issue - thoughts?

Yes, you are not able to connect to the 2003 exchange server. Can you ping it? Is it reachable?

yes its reachable, however, my mailbox is on exch 2010, I have the journalying mailbox added to my outlook profile which is on exch 2003. Im guessing that is the problem. any other thoughts?
