I wanted to know what it means within EIGRP, if the exterior flag is set or not?

in elementary terms, so I can get this concept.

Exterior route in EIGRP is a route inserted into EIGRP from any other routing protocol with redistribution. It can be a static route as well inserted into EIGRP with redistribute static command
