iphone sent email not showing in outlook sent items

I have an iPhone 3Gs setup to use activesync on Exchange 2010.

everything is working fine apart from if an email is sent from the iPhone it does not appear in 'Sent items' in outlook.

Any ideas anyone?

does Iphone have checked that he synchronizes 'Sent items'
