I have a Windows 2008 Server that won't load the server manager snap-in. When I try I load it I get the following error message

MMC could not create snap-in

MMC could not create snap-in. The snap-in might not have been installed correctly

Name: Server Manager

CLSID: FX:{18ea3f92-d6aa-41d9-a205-2023400c8fbb}

I've looked into this issue and I've discovered that it is potential a problem with .NET, which I have run a repair on without success. In addition to this I have run the Microsoft System Readyness tool which does seem to have highlighted any issues either.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

I found this issue can be also caused by the corrupt or missing KB948609 package. Once we fix the KB948609 package
it will be resolved.

check this one

you need to download that hotfix and install it.

let us know.

I've managed to resolve these issues by completing uninstalling .NET from the server and then reinstalling it from scratch.

Thanks for your suggestions
