I've been given an opportunity to create a "division" of a local graphics / ad shop that wants to branch out. They're OS X Lion only, mostly wireless. I'll be issued a MBP. I need software and vinyl cutter (about 24 inches) recommendations that work well with OSX and USB or AirPort Wireless networks. Their in-house work is done mostly with Illustrator but they do have Corel Draw as well.
Banner printing is farmed out. This would be mostly last minute window treatments, directional signs, replacement work for lost banners and such at trade/market shows as well as full-size mock-ups of ideas drawn with plotter pens.
I've got the PC side of this down, but in the past Apple has been a bit of kluge in the vinyl cutting business. I'm looking to make this switch to be as painless as possible.
I have a Roland GX 24 it uses a plugin called cut studio to cut out of Corel and Illustrator. It will cut directly out of corel draw as a printer. You may have to play with the settings to get your procedure
