I am trying to create a desktop application which can read and write to a specific folder on a SharePoint 2010 website. I think SharePoint web folders can be accessed using webDAV? I don't know much about webDAV but I hope some of you have some ideas.

The application will be written in C#. Is looking into webDAV the best approach or is there a better method to upload/download files from a SharePoint web folder? Obviously authentication would also have to be taken into account as SharePoint requires users to login first before seeing any folders.

Thanks in advance for any help.
