Trying to get laptop to talk to rest of peer to peer Win 7 network thru router.  Unit asks for network password.  (assuming this is the pw generated when joining the nw).

How can I retrieve or recreate this credential?

Thanks

If you click Start, and type Homegroup, you should see an option as "View or print the Homegroup password".....

Otherwise, if it is a standard credentials box, then in a Workgroup setting, ideally you will want to have all user accounts (their Usernames AND passwords EXACTLY) configured on EACH machine.

So if you have 5 systems, each has 1 users, you would want ALL 5 IDENTICALLY CONFIGURED users on each machine. You can hide them from the start menu, but this gives them an ability to authenticate against the local SAM, as there is no AD present.....
