i have taken backup on sql 2008 server(running version 10.50.1600). i want to restore the database on sql 2008 (running version 10.00.1600).  when i try to restore it give me error
Restore failed for server 'servername',(Microsoft.sqlserver.smoextended)

additional informataion : -
system.data.sqlclient.sqlerror: the database was backed up on a server running version 10.50.1600. that version is incompatible with this server, which is running version 10.00.1600. either restore the database on a server that supports the backup, or use a backup that is compatible with server. (microsoft.sqlserver.smo)

You can't restore a database from higher version to lower version. This is a case that I saw before where a backup from SQL Server 2008 R2 was being restored in SQL Server 2008. The case looks like similar to yours. Please find the attached link
