How to change existing multiple sharepoint sites from http to https

We have Microsoft's Windows Sharepoint Services version 3.0.
We have created multiple (intranet) Web Sites/Applications with different URL's

(ie: The name of the server is SPServer http://SPServer.domain.com but all the different web applications have different URL's like below:
http://or.domain.com
http://it.domain.com
http://fi.domain.com)

How can we change the URL to https:// and make it seemless to the user?

I know from the Administration Page I can go to Operations-->Alternative Access Mapping--> Edit Public Zone URL.

I was able to change it for 1 website to https:// and create a certificate.  It worked for just 1 site.  I can't seem to do this for multple sites.  I can only use port 443 once.  I just want the Http to change to https:// .  I don't want to add port #'s, etc.

Has anyone attempted this and been successful?
Thanks in advance...

Here's some information on enabling SSL for multiple apps.

And one on creating redirects from http and https
