I have a 7206vxr npe-300. I am curious if it is possible to swap just the npe and upgrade to a g1? If so does anyone know of any potential problems that may arise by doing so? Looking at doing this because of a circuit upgrade and the BGP process is hogging memory. So basically fixed SDRAM and throughput are the reasons. Trying to be cost efficient :)

I'm fairly certain it is that easy.  This is part of how Cisco has kept the 7200 series viable for so long.
