Current setup: Win Server 2003 with Swl server 2008

Is it better to update just the server to 2008, or is it more secure to do a new installation of both (Server and Sql Server).
Are there any known problems with the SQL Server if you just Update the Win Server version?

Thanks in before

I would not recommend doinf in-place upgrade. It can cause a mess after all :(
First, if you need to do in-place upgrade Win 2003 must be in R2 edition and must use the same architecture on migrated OS (I mean 2003 x32 can only be mifrated to 2008 x32 and 2003 x64 can be migrated to 2008 x64).

I would suggest to do clean server install on another device and migrate SQL databases and other settings/roles (if necessary)

Krzysztof
