Squid newbie

Hi,

I configured squid to play around with at home.
The list of adaptations is enorm.

Do you have any tips to configure (it works out of the box) + is there a webbased/monitoring admin possible?

Thanks,
J.

Hi i have used a module for webmin called squid monitor.

http://freshmeat.net/projects/squid-real-monitor

If you have webmin installed that is.

http://www.webmin.com/

You never did say what version of linux you are using?

Also use this page for example configurations dependant on what you want it to do.

http://wiki.squid-cache.org/ConfigExamples

I use squid as a transparent proxy for dansguardian (web filter), works really well.

ASKER

I'm using a Synology NAS, don't know exactly which OS.
Apparently based on based on Linux kernel 2.6 GPL Linux.

There is already a webmin kind of interface so I prefer not to install webmin. However the squid monitor would be interesting ....
