Space Requirements for DPM Backups

How do I calculate the disk space requirements for DPM?

Can you explain how VSS works with DPM? Will the shadow copies be created on the protected servers first and how much free disk space will be required on the protected servers to ensure that VSS works without problems? Or will the shadow copies be created directly on the DPM server?

Microsoft recommends the disk space on the DPM server to be 2,5-3,5 times as much as the protected data. Will this include the mounted shadowcopies you can create with "dpmbackup -replicas"? I will need those mounted shadowcopies to copy the backups for manual offsite storage.

I will have to backup/protect:
1x Hyper-V Host
1x DC (virtual)
1x Exchange 2010 (virtual)
300GB Exchange 2010 mailbox database
1x SC/SPM (virtual)
1x WSUS/fileserver (virtual)
600GB files (documents)

How much space will I need for the DPM drive pool, if I want to get protection for 14 days?
