Excel 2007/2010 to Sql 2008
If I have a column in excel called contract no, and a table in sql 2008 called plantname_usa_inc, with a column in it called contract_information_contr act.
What is the best way to import the data from the excel column to the sql column??

right-click in the connections area and choose New Connection...
One of the options in the list will be EXCEL. The rest of the file setup will be self-explanatory.

Problem I found is this:
x64 SQL hass no option for excel.
x32 has option but returns this:
TITLE: SQL Server Import and Export Wizard
-------------------------- ----
The operation could not be completed.
-------------------------- ----
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Could not find installable ISAM. (Microsoft JET Database Engine)
-------------------------- ----
BUTTONS:
OK
-------------------------- ----
I ended up importing excel to Access then upsizing the data to SQL. Mission accomplished.
