Hi Experts,

Sample1.jpg has two corners that are rounded, and I'd like to do the same to sample2.jpg.  Could someone explain how this is done?  I have Photoshop CS5 & Illustrator CS5.  I prefer to use Illustrator but I can handle PS if needed.

Thanks,

HNM sample1 sample2

Here is one way you could use and it should be really easy:

1. In Illustrator: File>Place the Picture.
2. Draw a circle in the down-left corner. Start at the corner of the picture and drag the Ellipse (L) tool up to right.
3. Draw a square, using the Rectangle tool (M). Draw from the left side of the circle up, until you reach the height of the picture.

4. Do step 1-3 on the other side, starting with the circle top right and work your way down.

5. Cover the rest of the picture by drawing a rectangle from the center bottom of the left circle up to the center top of the right circle. The picture should be more or less covered now, except for the corners around the circles.

6. Select all the shapes, clicking and holding down the Shift key until all are selected. Open up Window>Pathfinder and select the top-left icon called Unite to join all the shapes into one shape.

7. Select this one shape and the picture (Select All / Command+A) and go: Object>Clipping Mask>Make.

This should make the shape show only the parts of the picture that fall into the shape.
