Hi,

I have a Synology NAS to which I would like to install hivemail.
I transferred the package in binary mode (ftp) and changed the config.php to correct values.

Now when I try to hostip/hivemail it just shows up a blank page.
Thanks for your input!
J.

---config.php---
'server' => 'localhost',            // Hostname or IP address of the MySQL server
'database' => 'hivemail',                  // Name of your MySQL database
'username' => 'hivemail',            // The username and password that
'password' => 'password',            // are used to log on to the MySQL server
'persistent' => false,                  // Whether to use persistent connections or not

My guess is that you have an error coming from PHP.  For security reasons, system errors are usually hidden from users.  The errors are often in a log file.

In Linux, the log file could be in /var/log/httpd/error_log  But it could be somewhere else like /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log

If you can find the log, attempt to load the page again and then look at the last lines of the log file.

If in Linux, you can't find the log, try   # find  /  -name error_log  -print
(You probably don't need -print in newer versions of find.)

If you still can't find the log, check back here.  Or if you find messages you don't understand, post them.  (Not the whole log file but just the last few lines.)

Found out that I need a different version of hivemail. Now I'm a step further but cannot install prerequisite:

Site error: the file /volume1/web/hm/index.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.3.so to be installed by the website operator. If you are the website operator please use the ionCube Loader Wizard to assist with installation.

If I use the installer as I should (mentioned on the site ioncube), probably my OS (Synology) doesn't support Ioncube.

Damn, now I need an alternative for Hivemail

Is that message in the log file?

What are your e-mail needs?

I suggest you try a new thread.  The title "Blank Page...." isn't likely to attract the attention of the people who have specific skills in this area.  (However, Ray might show up anyway...he's pretty sharp.)

@hmccurdy: Ha!  I almost ignored this question for exactly the reason that "blank page" was kind of an opaque title for a question.  But I completely agree with your assessment about the title.  This question is important and even though I cannot give a good answer, I can give a good suggestion.  Post a new question or ask a moderator to add this question to other zones.  You are in the PHP zone now (I only monitor the PHP zone).  You can have up to five zones, and there are other EE experts who regularly monitor other zones.  When you get some extra pairs of eyes on the question you will undoubtedly get some good suggestions.

Best of luck and best regards, ~Ray

Solution was to install another version of the package, specific for my PHP-version.
