Migrate Programs to New Computer

I just purchased a new Windows 7 laptop, and would like to transfer some of my programs to the new computer (including updates, settings, relevant drivers, etc.) without having to go through the whole reinstallation process.  The desktop I'm transferring from is also Windows 7.  Is there a simple way or program that will let me do this reliably?

Thanks,

Phil

philsimmons--PCMover claims it is the only program to do this, but it is not free

philsimmons--I should have mentioned that Windows Easy Transfer does not transfer programs, but it is free

Thank you.  Have you ever actually used this program?

philsimmons--No, but it is the only game in town.  Most reviews just gripe about its slow speed
