I created a medium complicated TIN from a contour imported from a CAD file. Every time I try to drape anything onto it I get a bugsplat. I have tried draping simple lines also, with the same result.

I have tried removing all plugins, but it still crashes immediately when I drape.

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your note.  I understand SketchUp is crashing when you attempt to drape onto your imported geometry. Unfortunately this is a known limitation with the Sandbox tools and larger sets of data to be draped or with complex terrain. I've opened your model and also see crash when draping. Unfortunately the only solution is to either simplify the outline of what you're draping, or the terrain you're draping onto. My recommendation is to check in either of the two active SketchUp communities and see if there are any suggestions for draping more effectively. You'll find the official SketchUp forum and the SketchUcation forum both linked below.

Thanks for taking the time to write.

Simplifying the terrain and the objects to be draped worked!
